What most people don’t know

Most varakh isn’t vegetarian

This surprises people who have eaten it their whole lives. Traditional varakh is made by hammering silver between layers of animal gut or leather for hours. The pouch has to be thin, strong and elastic, and for centuries nothing else was.

The silver stays pure. The process does not — and nothing on the box is required to say so.

Ours is beaten between polymer sheets by machine, in a sealed, dust-free room. Nothing animal touches the metal at any stage. That is what “100% vegetarian” on our boxes actually refers to, and it is why Jain temples and ayurvedic manufacturers buy from us.

How to tell real leaf from adulterated

Why sweet makers keep buying it here

Machine-made, never leather

Traditional varakh is beaten between animal gut. Ours is beaten between polymer sheets in a sealed room, which is what makes it vegetarian.

Straight from the maker

We are the manufacturer, not a reseller. There is no margin between you and the metal, which is why the trade buys here.

Purity you can verify

99.99%, stated in writing for anyone who needs the documentation — ayurvedic manufacturers usually do.

Fifty years of it
